Banana Moon Soap

This is a banana explosion.  It is over-ripe bananas begging to be baked into sweet, hot banana bread.  It also looks just like a slice of yummy, fresh-baked banana bread.  Don't let the website photo fool you....in person it is much more beautiful.  If I didn't know any better, it would be in my mouth.....not cool haha!  All this aside, the scent is a little strong.  It took me some getting used to but I love it now.  It also love it on my skin after I use it.  It mutes into a delicate veil of almost cherry-banana.  It doesn't lather that well but I'd attribute that to the different layers and textures in it.  The bottom lathered more, but the top was exfoliating.  It is a great all-in-one bar!  My skin is soft afterward and feels glowing.  You MUST get a piece of this calorie-free treat at your nearest bake sale....er.....LUSH store!

Alkmaar Soap

Welcome to tropical paradise.  Don't mind the fact that LUSH couldn't spell the name of their soap properly! LOL  This soap smells super tropical!  It reminds me of Banana Boat tanning oil on a hot summer day.  Blame it on the coconut oil.  This soap also has jasmine and honeysuckle.  I would say it is a coconut drink.  The scent overpowered me in the shower though, turning into a sickening sweet aroma.  The lather was nice but the soap dried out my skin.  I had to moisturize afterward!  I think this soap would be best for someone who doesn't have dry skin and loves the scent enough to love it more when magnified in the shower.  One of my favorite things about it though is the pure, white color.  Simple and elegant.

Red Rooster Soap

The scent of this soap reminds me of every cinnamon candy I've ever tasted.  It is a burst of cinnamon that wakes you up and satisfies your sweet tooth all at the same time.  It is supposed to be a mix of orange and cinnamon but I didn't catch the orange in it :(  I didn't much care for the soap in general.  My skin didn't react badly or favorably to it.  Also, the scent wore off with drying off.  The lather was sub-par.  I would love to have this scent in a bath bomb or a body spray.  The scent is so much fun!

Summer Pudding Soap

This soap came in my Strawberry Picnic gift set.  It is a true slice of summery goodness.  It smells a little like bubblegum outside of the shower and nutty bubblegum inside.  It lathered nicely and the almonds in the bar exfoliated without ripping my skin to shreds.  It made my skin very soft and scented sweet like cherries.  It has lasted a long time.  My gift set sized bar is still kickin and has a lot left to give. When I snapped the photo above, I missed out on showing you all the pink cherry scented chunk (the big bars have acutal cherries....this one didn't):

This is the bar after one shower.  Notice the rough almondy texture.  This came out after one shower.

The thing I love about this bar in the store is how hearty and pretty it is.  It has true showmanship and that is what I love in the LUSH soaps.

Fresh Farmacy Facial Cleanser

Once I finally wrapped my finger around what this product was (was given an unmarked sample), I was THRILLED!  I have heard great things about this cleanser from a few people with similar skin so I knew this would be an exciting try.  I love this!  It lathers very quickly and washed off of my skin very well.  The scent it fresh like bar soap and neutral for use every day.  Just like Angels on Bare Skin, it didn't break me out and it left my skin looking glowy and clean after just a couple uses.  It's also a good deal...this small sample has lasted a very long time!  I didn't need moisurizer after using this which makes me one happy girl!  I hate fussy routines and so have something clean, yet not strip away all of the moisture, makes me happy.

Now, I'm trying to somehow decide between this and Angels on Bare Skin, which cleanser I like more.  I CAN'T!  I'm glad a have others to try....hoping that will make my desicion easier.  So far, the only differences are ease of use, which Fresh Farmacy far outdoes Angels and scent, which.....Angels is my fave there. hahaha!

Rehab Shampoo

My favorite thing about this shampoo is the clean feeling my hair has after I use it.  The scent is hard to place but very fresh and not too heavy.  It is supposed to be a shampoo for dry or "abused" hair.  I didn't notice much of a difference after 7 washes, but long-term I'd believe that it would work.  The lather isn't as thick with other shampoos but didn't leave me feeling like I hadn't washed my hair.  It rinses out nicely and kept my oily scalp from rearing it's ugly head (really?) for 2 days!

Overall, it was a nice shampoo but not something I couldn't live without.  Cynthia Sylvia Stout was more of a result I'd like to see.  I wish I could take Cynthia shampoo and replace it's smell with this!  That would be something I would purchase regularly!

Honey I Washed The Kids Soap

The scent of this soap is intoxicating.  It smells sweet and simple, like honey.  With larger pieces, it has an adorable honeycomb top on it.  In the shower it lathers up a little less than normal soap.  I can only believe that this is because it has more natural ingredients (not all natural).  A little tip - try rubbing it between your hands then all over your skin to lather, instead of rubbing the bar on your skin.  I makes your skin feel very clean and undescribably soft.  I've never had softer skin.  This little sample chunk has lasted me 6 showers and I still have way more than half left!

Here is my negative, not of the soap but of it's presentation in the gift set I bought.  I got my piece of Honey I Washed the Kids in the Greetings From... wrapped gift set.  I had seen this soap on other hauls by TiffanyD and Elle Fowler and it was always so aesthetically pleasing!  It has this super cute honeycomb top on it.  However, the peice I got in my giftset was the plain, bottom part of this soap.  My only concern on this is for the folks who haven't seen this soap in all of it's glory, the effect will be lost.  For someone who isn't familiar with Lush soaps and this one in particular, they might not be inspired to buy it again.   Sure, the scent is appealing and it makes your skin soft but, other soaps do that as well.  It's the aethetic aspect of it that takes it over the top and will make the gift receiever want to come into the store to purchase more.  In my opinion, it would be best to include some honeycomb on the soap.  Now, I don't work for Lush so I have no clue the effort that goes into these boxes.  I just think it makes some sense.
